William Hurt Cause Of Death: What Happened To William Hurt?
Academy-award winning actor William Hurt has died at the age of 71.
Hurt was an A-list actor who was a household name through the 1980s—starring in films like Kiss of the Spider Woman, Body Heat and The Big Chill.
Hurt, who famously hated Hollywood and the limelight, came to Newfoundland in the fall of 2000 to film the comedy Rare Birds, based on a novel by Newfoundland author Ed Riche. Hurt played the role of Dave whose failing restaurant is given a boost when his quirky neighbour, played by Andy Jones, starts a rumour about a rare duck spotted offshore. The movie was shot in and around Cape Spear.
Hurt often spoke fondly of his time in Newfoundland in interviews. He passed away on Sunday of natural causes. He was diagnosed with terminal prostate cancer in 2018.
