We Are Not Recruiting Into Amotekun, Beware Of Fake Social Media Posts – DAWN Commission

The Development Agenda for Western Nigeria, (DAWN) Commission, has disowned recruitment advertisement circulating on social media for the recently launched South West Security Network, codenamed Operation Amotekun.

The commission which is the managers of the Southwest Integration Agenda and the Regional Coordinator of Operation Amotekun made this known in a disclaimer notice made available to
Naijaparry on Monday.

Dawn commission said no agency or individual has been mandated to recruit personnel into Operation Amotekun.

The relaese reads in part “Our attention has been drawn to several publications, notices and advertisements on social media purportedly for the purposes of recruitment into the recently launched Western Nigeria Security Network, codenamed, Amotekun.

“This is to inform the general public that no organization, agency or individual has been mandated by DAWN commission or any of the states in the Southwest to recruit personnel for Western Nigeria Security Network, Amotekun.

“We are also aware of several social media handles masquerading as official social media handles for Amotekun. We do not endorse or assume responsibility or any engagements with these bogus sites and will not be a party to or in any way be responsible for any claims of fraud.”

Naijaparry gathered that there is a viral publication about the recruitment of personnel to join Operation Amotekun which was launched in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital on Thursday.
