W.F. Kumuyi Reveals Shocking Secrets about Himself
The quintessential pastor who is known for his holiness preaching, William Folorunsho Kumuyi, was born at Erin Ijesha Osun state on 6th June 1941.
He is the founder and the general superintendent of the Deeper Life Christian Ministry.
He was born into an Anglican home. While speaking with Alan Isaacson, William Kumuyi, describes, his upbring thus:
“We would get up in the morning, read the Bible, sing hymns, and go to church regularly. When I went to secondary school I lost interest in the church because our principal taught us atheism. But after a while, I thought again and started going to various churches in town. Eventually, in 1963, a group of singers and preachers from a Gospel church got permission to come to the school.
I understood the Gospel message and was born again on April 5th, 1964. I read John Wesley, Charles Finney, Spurgeon, and lots of other books. I got involved with the Scripture Union, and I grew.”
Moreover, he completed his secondary school education in 1961, and in 1962, he started teaching mathematics at Mayflower School in Ikenne, Ogun-State.
He proceeded to the University of Ibadan and in 1967 graduated with a first-class honours degree in Mathematics.
After five years of teaching at Mayflower School, he went to the University of Lagos to do a Postgraduate Certificate in Education and became a lecturer there in 1973; and that was when he started a small Deeper Life Bible Study group with 15 people. In the early 1980’s that small group had grown to several thousand, at which time Deeper Life Bible Church was formally established.

He was baptised in the Holy Ghost in 1974. He got married in 1980 to Abiodun of blessed memory. However, he lost her in April 2009.
He later married, Esther Folashade, in October 2010, in London, about 18 months after the death of his first wife.
In April 2013, Kumuyi was named as one of the “500 most powerful people on the planet” and Deeper Christian Life Ministry named as “the World’s largest Megachurch” by Foreign Policy magazine (FP)
Pastor William Folorunsho Kumuyi is wonderfully cute right from his youth. He is anointed and spirit-filled. The holiness message is the central point of his ministry and that message is hinged on “earnestly contending for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.” (Jude3)
Pastor Kumuyi once said while speaking about the growth of the Deeper Life Church that “God, in the growth of Deeper Life Bible Church, has strategically and prudently used miracles to make all men come to Him’ (John 3:26). We take Christian living and holiness seriously.”
William Kumuyi is of an average height. He doesn’t have a larger-than-life character. He does not dominate, neither has he accrued power to himself. He calls his followers brothers and sisters and he treats them as colleagues.
William Kumuyi has authored several books which include: The Power of Extra-ordinary Faith ; The Making of an Effective Minister ; Becoming a Succesful Christain Leader ; Countdown to the End and Marriage and the Family Life among other titles.
