UEFA Confirm Rashford Ban for Man Utd’s Next Match

UEFA have handed a one-match ban to Manchester United forward, Marcus Rashford, in the Champions League.

Rashford will now miss the Red Devils’ trip to Galatasaray next week.

The England international was shown a red card as United lost 4-3 to FC Copenhagen earlier this month.

Referee Donatas Rumsas was called to review the footage on the pitchside monitor by VAR before dismissing Rashford for a foul on Elia Jelert.

That defeat has put Erik ten Hag’s men on the verge of crashing out of the Champions League group stages.

After the game, Ten Hag said: “The red card changed everything.

“We then conceded two goals before half-time that should never have counted – the first was offside, their player stood in front of André Onana, and the penalty [for the second] was very debatable.

“The red card was harsh. [Rashford] went for the ball, but the referee had such a long time to make it a red card. When you freeze it, it always looks worse. They took so long to make a red card of it.”
