Tina Turner Husband: Who is Erwin Bach?
Tina Turner Husband – Legendary singer Tina Turner has died at the age of 83, her spokesperson has confirmed.
In a statement, they said: “Tina Turner, the ‘Queen of Rock’n Roll’ has died peacefully today at the age of 83 after a long illness in her home in Kusnacht near Zurich, Switzerland. With her, the world loses a music legend and a role model.”
She had suffered a number of health issues in recent years including cancer, a stroke, and kidney failure. Turner was married twice in her life, first to Ike Turner and then to Erwin Bach.
Tina Turner Husband: Who is Erwin Bach?
In 1986, Turner met Erwin Bach, who was a German music executive. He was sent by her European record label to greet Turner at Düsseldorf Airport.
Born on January 24, 1956, in Cologne, Germany, he is 16 years younger than Turner.
Bach worked as a manager for the EMI record company in Europe, which released music by artists including Queen, Paul McCartney, Pink Floyd, and Radiohead. Turner collaborated with EMI to promote her music internationally.
In 2012, the label was divided into more compact businesses. Prior to its collapse, EMI was among the music industry’s largest record labels.
They initially became friends and later began dating later that year. In July 2013, after a 27-year romantic relationship, they married in a civil ceremony on the banks of Lake Zurich in Küsnacht, Switzerland.
A decade after leaving her abusive first husband and musical partner Ike Turner, with whom she has four children, the “Queen of Rock and Roll” met the former music entrepreneur.
Before Turner passed away on May 24, 2023, from an extended medical condition, she dated Bach for 27 years and they were married for 10 years. The pair had many special times and significant milestones together during the course of their lengthy relationship. Turner also gave Bach credit for showing her how “to love without giving up who I am.”
While the couple has maintained a largely secret relationship throughout the years, they did discuss their love story in the HBO documentary Tina in 2021.
