Thiago Silva Clashes With Chelsea Fans After Carabao Cup Loss

Chelsea defender Thiago Silva argued with his own supporters after they booed the team following a 1-0 defeat to Middlesbrough in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg.

Hayden Hackney scored the only goal of the game to give the Championship team a slim advantage.

The Blues had a few chances, with most of them falling to Cole Palmer, who wasted them.

At full-time, there were ugly scenes at the Riverside Stadium, with the Chelsea team loudly booed by their fans as they headed over to applaud them.

Silva could be seen exchanging words with a section of the supporters before he left the pitch.

“Look, they have to go over. Of course, the fans are not going to be happy.

“But you always go to the fans and you have to make sure in the next game that you make things right,” former Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink said as he watched the incident unfold on Sky Sports.
