“A Nation that destroys or defaces it building destroys itself” The unregulated and indiscriminate pasting of posters in Federal polytechnic Ede is exasperating and alarming,you will concur that the factor responsible for the defacement of building in Federal polytechnic Ede is predominantly “the human factor” that’s why the landscape of great beauty of federal polytechnic Ede Campus lies under our feets and all around Us. years back, the defacement of the infrastructure/buildings continues unabated in Federal Polytechnic Ede , with munificent and burdensome posters of Campaign from ill – informed flagbearers contesting for the Student’s offices, inscriptions like *”Vote Kemistry at SUG FPE 17″* which is an infringement to publicity right and directives of the School (Directorate of Students affairs),as the directive to combat this menace seem to have fallen on deaf ears ,in Same manner, products and upcoming events as well as graffiti and inscriptions written with paint abounding everywhere,the school walls at NFA,engineering departments ,C block, B block and other part of the campus had become an extension of information boards in the campus of Federal polytechnic Ede, as the walls are now constantly abused by people who paste and write various things on them,in same breadth inside the campus of Federal polytechnic Ede
there has been a feeling of lingering race among religious inter-denomination, especially fellowships , churches in their bid to win more members to their individual folds, which translate to circulation/pasting of handbills and posters as well as the erection of signboards. Thus, it is common to find many churches flagrantly paste posters advertising various church programmes on the school wall or any available space in many parts of the campus of Federal polytechnic Ede seemingly oblivious of the implications of their action on the environment.
Culprits of infrastructure defacement also include some companies, industries and shops in the school mini mart that advertise job openings, especially for casuals, in their establishments. Most indicating such openings via writings on walls of buildings or poles, itemising the available positions such as factory workers, office assistants, clerks, sales persons, marketers and many more, each with the attached salary and telephone numbers to be called by interested persons also on display,undoubtedly this has subjected the school building to all sorts of abuses by miscreants and posters vendors, this threat has been espy as a drawback to the beautification projects being carried out by the school management.
It’s time to keep the Campus of Federal polytechnic Ede glamorously magnified and Cleans, Students of federal polytechnic Ede are to be knowledgeable of publication rights promulgated by the directorate of Student affairs ,it is illegal and illegitimate for any Student to deface any of the institution infrastructure/building as any Students found defacing any of the building facilities will be made to face disciplinary action,Students and others Culprits of this act should imbibe in using the information board rather than the adverse effects of destruction and untidiness,inculcate in the use of banners rather than obnoxious act of posters which is autochthonous, on the side of the management, as war against poster pasting Continues – the good work,the management should intensify its effort by Creating a modalities to guide the use of Campaign posters by student’s unionists and some other bodies who are Culprits of this act.
