Jarrett Allen is an American professional basketball player who plays as a center for the Cleveland Cavaliers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). After that season, he was eligible for the 2017 NBA draft. He forewent the remainder of his three collegiate eligibility and signed for the Brooklyn Nets in the 1st round, 22 overall pick.

Allen made his NBA debut on October 20, 2017 after he signed his rookie scale deal with the Nets on July 20. At the time, he was 19 years and 182 days, becoming the second-youngest player ever to grace the court for the Nets, just behind Derrick Favors.

He played 4 seasons with the Nets, joining the starting lineup for the first time on January 25, 2018 and recorded a career-high 16 points and 12 rebounds in the 116-108 win over the Philadelphia 76ers in his first season.

In the game against the Los Angeles Lakers on February 2, Allen managed a career-high 20 points, as well as five rebounds and one block. On February 7, he recorded a career-high 14 rebounds and scored 13 points in a 115–106 loss to the Detroit Pistons.

Allen ended his career with the Nets in a victory against the Houston Rockets. In the game on January 16, 2019, he recorded 20 points and a career-high 24 rebounds in the Nets’ 145–142 overtime.

On January 14, 2021, Allen was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers in a multi-player, four-team deal with the Rockets that sent James Harden to the Nets. He went on to prove his worth for the Cavs and was named NBA All-Star in 2022.
