Thaddeus Attah Biography, Age, Wikipedia, State of Origin, Wife, Labour Party
Famous Nigerian singer and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for House of Representatives, Eti-Osa Federal Constituency of Lagos State, Olubankole Wellington has lost the election.
Despite running on the ticket of one of the two famous political parties, the singer missed another opportunity to represent his constituents – for the second time.
His loss comes after he had applauded INEC for a “well-organized election process”.
He told Daily Post “We have learnt many lessons from the previous elections, so we started our queue control a lot earlier. A few friends and I got here together and got canopies and chairs because that was the biggest polling unit in Eti-Osa,” he stated.
According to results announced by Prof Funmilayo Odukoya, the INEC Returning Officer, Attah garnered 24,075 votes to beat Banky W who had 18,666 votes, and Obanikoro, the incumbent House of Representatives member for the area who had 16, 901 votes.
The singer, in 2019, lost the Eti Osa Federal Constituency election to the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate, Babajide Obanikoro.
While Banky W’s loss will come as a surprise to many, the caliber of his successor will leave many asking questions.
