TB Joshua Burial: Controversy greets TB Joshua’s burial place, date

Almost a week after his death, the burial date and place of the late founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, SCOAN, Prophet T B Joshua, is still shrouded in uncertainty, as there appears to be no news of agreement on this on the part of his family members, the people of Arigidi Akoko, his home town, church members and his immediate family.

There has been a sharp division as to the late Televangelist’s burial place as church members and his wife, Evelyn Balogun on one hand, his Arigidi family members and residents.

The Hope had it on good ground that while the people of Arigidi Akoko, Joshua’s family back home want him buried at home, the wife and church members are insisting that he be buried at his church premises of his Church in Lagos.

A reliable source told our reporter that the traditional ruler of Arigidi Akoko, the home town of Joshua, Oba Yisa Olanipekun and the Chief Imam of Agbaluku, Arigidi Akoko, Alhaji Salisu Musa with other powerful delegation are already in Lagos to commiserate with the widow, Evelyn, and possibly convey the wishes of the people of Arigidi.

The coordinator of Akoko Women Solidarity Group, Mrs Florence Obayopo appealed to the widow and the church members to agree and support the popular demand of Akoko people.

Obayopo gave example of the founder of Cherubim and Seraphim, Church of Nigeria, Moses Orimolade Tunolase whose corpse had to be exhumed from where it was first interned in Ogun State and later reburied in his home town, Ikare Akoko and the late J B Oshoffa of the Celestial Church who was buried in Imeko, Ogun State, his birth place and the late Benson Idahosa who was also buried at Benin, his home town as examples of the numerous clerics who were buried in their home towns.
