Taiwo Hassan worked with the Lagos state water corportaion for 13 years before venturing into acting which he started under the tutelage of Awo Ademola Fagbemi between 1981 and 1982. As at then he only concentrated on stage plays.

He later retired from his government job to focus on acting where he joined the nollywood full time in 1994.
