Suspected Robber Caught At Crime Scene After Staying Behind To Eat Victim’s Chicken

A suspected robber has been apprehended and charged to court for allegedly stealing from a man at gunpoint in Chicago.

20-year-old James Taylor stayed at the crime scene after the robbery to eat the victim’s yummy-looking takeout fried chicken.

The victim, 35 was accosted by Taylor when he parked in front of his home in the 4500 block of South Calumet and started to head toward his residence with his purchase around 1:30 am on Saturday.

Chicago police arrived at the robbery scene within minutes and allegedly found the armed robber eating the chicken meal.

Officials said Taylor approached him to ask for a light, but the victim said he didn’t have one and continued walking.

He then tapped the man on the shoulder, and when the victim turned around, the suspect pointed a pistol at his face

According to Prosecutor Kenneth Flesch, the victim handed over the car keys, a debit card, $2 he had on him, and the fried chicken.

Flesch said Taylor went into the car and began to eat the chicken while the vehicle owner of called 911 and Chicago police arrived minutes later.

He is charged with armed robbery with a firearm, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, aggravated possession of a stolen motor vehicle, and illegal possession of a debit card.
