Rachel Zegler was born on May 3, 2001 in Hackensack, New Jersey in the United States to Craig Zegler and Gina Zegler, she has an elder sister.
Her mother is of Columbia descent and her father is of Polish descent. Her maternal grandparents immigrated from Columbia to the United States in the 1960s.
Rachel was raised in Clifton, New Jersey, where she attended St. Philip the Apostle Preparatory School.
She then also attended the Catholic all-girls College Preparatory Immaculate Conception High School and graduated on in June 2019.
