Publish Details of 256 Health Centres You Claimed To Have Revamped With $20million, Osun PDP Challenges Oyetola

The Osun State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has challenged the state Governor, Gboyega Oyetola to make public details of the 256 Primary Healthcare Centres his administration claimed to have renovated and revatilised.

The party asked Governor Oyetola to prove critics wrong that his administration had not mismanaged the $20million World Bank grant meant to revitalise primary health care sector in the state, by publishing details of the completed health centres including their locations across the state.

A statement signed by the state acting chairman of the party, Elder Sunday Akanfe Atidade and made available to newsmen on Thursday accused Governor Oyetola of mismanaging the $20million health grant.

It claimed that most of the health centers across the state are still in shambles despite claims by the state government to have revamped almost all the health centers.

According to Atidade, the call asking the state government to make public details of the health centers became necessary to afford the good people of Osun State simple and ample opportunity to visit locations of the completed PHCs for proper assessment in relation with the claims of Osun State government.

The statements reads: “Instead of hauling insults on distinguished Senator Francis Fadahunsi, who opened the lid on PHC’s 20million dollars scam being perpetrated by governor Gboyega Oyetola’s led administration, a diligent government would rather avail concerned citizens detailed explanations on how the fund was spent on their behalf.”

“The CPS to Governor Oyetola, Mr Omipidan, should be reminded that Osun State is not an unassailable skyscraper built in the cloud, the state government should therefore stop deceiving the people with some bogus claims after fleecing the state of such substantial fund made available by the world bank.

“As a matter of fact and in this period of covid-19 pandemic, it would be nice to have 256 units state of the art completed PHCs available for health care needs of Osun populace as claimed by the state government, but such fortunate communities in the 332 wards in Osun State should be spelt out in clear terms for public scrutiny.”

While praising Senator Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi “for taking truth to the door step of those he described as pathological chiselers whose basic lifestyles and wicked grifting are inseparable,” the Osun PDP appealed to APC government in the State to allow fear of God take precedence over All their businesses of government in the state especially when human lives are involved.

The party said “all that the Distinguished Senator requested were answers to simple questions. “When was the bidding for the rehabilitation done? Who are the contractors? Can Oyetola publish the beneficiaries of the contract to show he is honest and let the people judge”. These are the questions Oyetola should answer instead of wasting money trying to convince the people who know the profligacy nature of Osun APC.”
