Police teargassed me during anti-Osun polls result protest – Murray-Bruce (Video & Photos)
Senator representing Bayelsa East senatorial district , Ben Murray- Bruce, on Friday, said that policemen teargassed him during a protest at the Independent National Electoral Commission’ s office in Abuja .
Murray- Bruce had participated in a protest led by the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Uche Secondus; and other party members that included Senate President Bukola Saraki , Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal , and ex -governor Rabiu Kwankwaso, among others .
They were protesting the result of the Osun State governorship election , which their party lost.
On his Twitter handle , @ benmurraybruce , the senator said , “ I have just been teargassed by the @ PoliceNG at
@ inecnigeria office . Gunshots have been fired. This was a d still is a peaceful protest ( sic) . How can I be treated like this in a country I have fought for and invested in ? This is madness, I came with words they answered with bullets !”
However, the video shared by Murray- Bruce on his Twitter handle did not reflect his claim .
