Police Rescue Abducted Chinese Nationals In Osun

Two Chinese nationals, Messrs Zhao Jian (33) and Wen (50), who were kidnapped by gunmen on Monday at Okepa/Itikan Village, a gold mining site in Atakunmosa West Local Government of the State of Osun, have been rescued by the Police.

The gunmen invaded the site and engaged security guards in a gun duel.

However, Jian and Wen were rescued around 9pm on Tuesday, according to the Police Public Relations Officer, Osun Command, Mrs. Yemisi Opalola, yesterday.

Opalola, in a press statement, recalled that, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Olawale Olokode had drafted a strong combined reinforcement of Police Tactical Unit, JTF, and other security outfits to embark on rescue operation of the two kidnapped victims and possible arrest of all the kidnappers.

She said efforts were ongoing to arrest the devils in human clothes, who were perpetrating the dastardly act.

The Commissioner of Police, according to Opalola, enjoined members of the public to support, cooperate and collaborate with the Police in fighting crime, by providing credible and prompt information, saying that this will always help in forestalling future incident.
