The Pamplona massacre, which claimed the life of Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo and eight other people, was covered by Sararaa while she was in Negros Oriental, according to CDN. Around three o’clock on Sunday, March 12, Sararaa was riding along with her boyfriend, Niel Ian Balcobero, on his motorcycle. At a junction in Barangay Tampi, San Jose, they were going to make a left turn when an elf truck struck their car as it passed a long-bed truck. Sararaa and Balcobero were admitted right away to the Municipality of Sibulan’s Negros Polymedic Hospital. Sararaa lost consciousness until she passed away, but Balcobero survived.

According to police sources, the elf truck’s driver was Nielric Tano Gaso, a local of Amlan town. After the completion of the 18-hour mandatory time, he was released from custody at the San Jose Police Station.
