Osun council boss allegedly divert N20m IGR to personal account
A council boss in Osun State, Dixon Amola, has been allegedly accused of diverting the sum of twenty million naira internally generated revenue of the council into his personal account with Wema bank plc.
This allegation was among many others leveled against the embattled Chairman of Ife East Central Local Council Development Area located, Modakeke, area of Osun State by the parliamentary arm of the LCDA at their sitting held on Monday at Oke-Dio, the council secretariat where seven of the ten members of the local legislative arm were present and unanimously resolved.
Some of the allegations leveled against the embattled council chair as read by the parliament on Monday are as follows:
“That you Hon. Amola Dixon misappropriated a sum of ten million naira (N10,000,000.00) meant for the burial ceremony of late Ogunsua of Modakeke, Oba Francis Olatunji Adedoyin at about July, 2018. Up till date, there is no proper record on how the money was spent”
“That with the connivance with former house leader, Hon Reuben Oluposi Sangodele, you diverted a sum of one million naira (N1,000,000.00) meant for the Local Government into your personal purse. This was the money paid by “Mobile Agent” and it is pure gross misconduct and violation of guideline for Local Government Administration”
“That since the inception of Oba Adedoyin Market, the rate generated as internal generated revenue so far, to the tune of twenty million (N20,000,000) has never been paid into the local government but rather your personal account with Wema Bank Plc (0243159433)”
“That you couldn’t account for the sum of hundred and fifty thousand naira (N250,000) allocated, approved and disbursed by this honourable house meant for the establishment of Dental Clinic since 2019”
“That you claimed to have taken a loan of a sum of one million, six hundred thousand naira(N1,600,000) from your friend, Barrister Bisi Oladosu (Ife West LCDA) without the knowledge of approval of this honourable house, which you claim to have used April allocation to offset”
“That you diverted a sum of two hundred and fifty thousand naira (N250,000)allocated and approved for the purchase of motorcycle for the use of town planning department to another unapproved project. This is purely misappropriation of fund”
“That you forged more than ten minutes of this meeting without any sitting of the parliament or executive council”
“That in the last ten months, you haven’t conveyed any executive meeting of the council but rather operating the local government from your home”
The house, however, said they have exhausted all avenue to ensure the embattled chairman appear before the parliament to defend those allegations but all their efforts was futile as the embattled council boss declined the invitation sent to him.
The local parliament has however passed vote of no confidence on the embattled chairman while their resolutions and allegations has been sent to the State House of Assembly, Osogbo for further trial in line with the State Local government administration guidelines as amended.
