OAU NEWS: Part Four Students Who Are Not Finalists, Are Not Entitled To Bedspace On Campus – PROF. ARANSI

Based on the new accommodation policy of the Obafemi Awolowo University, which has been welcomed with critics from every angle, all students are entitled to bedspace on first come, first serve basis.

The sad news since the accommodation procedure started is that part four students of the university who are not finalists were not given opportunity to apply for space on the university’s E-Portal page.

In a telephone call with the dean of the Division of Students’ Affairs, Prof I. Aransi, he said that the students are under normal circumstances not entitled to bedspace on campus.

Reporting in his words:

Under normal circumstances, the students in part four of those faculties you mentioned are ineligible for bedspaces on campus, as it is assumed they will be on IT.’

When questioned about the reasons for the ineligibility of part four students in faculty of Agriculture who will be indirectly working for the school on the school farm, he said

‘Students should bear with us until we build more hostels, but we’ll look into the Faculty of Agriculture issue. Get back to me.’
