Nigeria’s Richest Woman Speaks About Fulfilling Her Life’s Purpose

The richest woman in Nigeria , Mrs Folorunsho Alakija, who is also one of the richest women in Africa spoke about fulfilling her life’s purpose .

According to Forbes, as at 2015,
Folorunsho Alakija is the richest woman in Nigeria with a net worth of 2.1 billion Dollars, she temporarily became the world’s richest black woman in 2014.

Mrs Folorunsho Alakija, the Vice Chairman of FAMFA Oil among other establishments of hers, revealed her efforts in fulfilling the purpose of her life when she was at The Nation newspaper.

Mrs Alakija mentioned that helping women , widows and orphans was what God placed in her heart as her purpose.

Speaking about her purpose, Mrs Alakija said: “As human beings, we must all be our brothers’ keepers. We can all do something that can make a difference in the lives of our neighbours.”

She added: “Through fulfilling that mission which God has placed on my heart as my purpose, I realized that there needs to be a greater drive to pull together not only widows but women of all ages to encourage one another and help lift each other up to achieve our greatest and fullest potential.”

Mrs Alakija is the founder of Rose of Sharon Foundation, a non-governmental foundation that provides help to widows and orphans.

She is also the founder of another non-governmental organization called Flourish Africa, which was established to empower women and give them a platform like a community where they can share ideas and become who God wants them to be.

Mrs Alakija mentioned that Flourish Africa is a platform by women, for women, so as to empower both young and old women to flourish.
