Nigerian Striker Scores Hat-trick For Arsenal In Pre-season Win
Arsenal defeated Barnet FC 3-2 in a pre-season friendly played at The Hive Stadium on Wednesday, with Nigerian youngster Folarin Balogun stealing the show.
The 18-year-old was the star of the evening after scoring an impressive six-minute hat-trick against the National League side.
Balogun put the Gunners ahead in the 12th minute from the penalty spot, after Trae Coyle was fouled inside the Barnet box.
He doubled his tally almost immediately when he ran onto a through ball and finished into the far corner.
Balogun then completed his treble in the 18th minute, when he beat his marker and unleashed a powerful shot from 20 yards.
Majority of Arsenal XI were from U18 and U23 teams with Miguel Azeez, Joseph Olowu, Tolaji Bola, Mazeed Ogungbo and Ryan Alebiosu were the other players of Nigerian descent in action for the Gunners.
