Nigeria Separating Is Not Acceptable, We Are Better Together – Tinubu

The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has shot down agitators of secession movements to put a halt on their operations.

Tinubu made the submission at a Special Ramadan Prayer, “Tafsir” Lecture, held at the Lagos House, Marina, on Sunday May 2. According to him, whoever has experienced war in the past will not pray for the secession movements to prevail.

He said;

“For clamouring for war, God will not allow Nigeria to experience it. If we say Nigeria should separate, people should remember what war caused in Sudan and Iraq. Such war does not end in time. We are yet to recover from the civil war.

“We are better together. I have nowhere I am going. Whoever has experienced war in the past will not pray for such. Nigeria will not separate; it’s not acceptable to us. Our prayer is for prosperity and more wealth for the country.”

You could recall he recently expressed his anger following the trouble and terror that has visited many parts of the country. Tinubu condemned the attacks as he took to his Twitter page to react to the news. He wrote:

”Like all decent Nigerians, I am angered and troubled by the terror and cruelty being visited upon the people of Borno, Yobe, Benue, Niger, Imo and other parts of the nation.

These attacks have caused many to disparage our military and security forces. This we must not do. Valiant men and women serve in our security forces, risking their lives to protect us.

We stand with them. Government also must continue to encourage the security forces to do their utmost to subdue this threat. The lives of innocent Nigerians and the future progress of the nation may lie in the balance.
