Naomi Kuria was born in Tuthu, Kangema Muranga county. She is a comedian and actress based in Kenya. She has been in the Kenyan media for close to two years now and so far has had her share of successes and challenges.

In 2019, she partnered with DJ Shiti and starred in a number of his comedy skits. Before working with him, she used to be a huge fan after falling in love with his act while he was still part of the Real House Helps of Kawangware cast. After doing her first video, she reached out and the actor wasted no time in featuring her in his videos. They worked together for about a year creating a host of opportunities for Naomi to meet other online creatives.

However, with time, she felt she had more to offer and deserved more. This and the fact that some of her ideas were being disregarded prompted her to stop working with Shiti. Despite this, she credits the actor for having introduced her to the industry.

In 2020, she met another comedian, Auntie Jemimah at a video shoot and the two shared a wonderful rapport. Later when Jemimah posted a photo about the event, she was the first to comment, which in a way touched the comedian. Auntie Jemimah would then reach out and the two shot a video which was a complete success. She then signed a contract and joined Auntie Jemimah’s crew. She enjoyed working with them and said she learnt so much including her value as an actor, all while working with Jemimah and the crew. It did help also that she would get paid to participate in Auntie Jemimah’s skits, proving that one can indeed make money through acting.

After feeling she had gained enough experience, it was finally time for her to venture out on her own. She concentrated on her channel and began posting her own videos. The videos were well received and loved by her audience and as of now her channel is a top contender in Kenya’s YouTube space. So many famous personalities have been featured in her videos including Joseph Kinuthia (alias Omosh), musician Samidoh, Diana Daisy, Auntie Jemimah and Sauti Sol’s Bien Aimee.

With close to 50,000 subscribers and nearly 100 videos on her channel, Naomi’s refreshing comedy is indeed a breath of fresh air. She hopes that her content will pave the way for her to be a successful actor in the industry.
