NANS Zone D (South West) Coordinator Meets Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Vice Chancellor, And Entire Management On Issues Of Significant Prominence
The NANS Zone D (Coordinator), Comrade Adekitan Lukman Adebisi (TUNICE) met with the management of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife on issues of great prominence.
The meeting witnessed the presence of the Vice Chancellor, Dean Students Affairs, Chief Security Officer and other top personalities of the management team on one hand, and the Coordinator of NANS South West and his team of radical and intellectual combatants on the other hand.
The NANS Coordinator expressed how very fundamental the reopening of some comrades electronic portals is and the need to do so as a matter of exigency.
The Coordinator used his highest office in the zone to demand an independent and formidable Students Union for the students of Great Ife and explained how very germane it is to have an operating Students Union.
“A school without Students Union is like a man without blood flowing through his veins ” he claimed.
The Vice Chancellor and his management team received their visitors with warmth welcome and appreciated their approaches to crises that nearly bedevilled the institution not quite long.
And still fervently believe they will do more to ensure that sanity and peace reappears in the University community.
RESOLUTIONS
1. That the Coordinator of NANS South West facilitate a reconnection between the concerned comrades or students and the Directorate of Students Affairs.
This reconnection will serve as an avenue to settle reconcilable differences on ground and invariably pave a humble way for the reopening of their school electronic portals.
2. That the Management of the school reinstate unconditionally the Students Union as soon as the sociopolitical tensions on ground diminish to the barest minimum.
The NANS Coordinator however uses this wonderful opportunity to inform the concerned comrades and the entire students community to remain calm, peaceful, responsible and at the same time responsive in their modus operandi as all negotiating mechanisms in our possessions have already been put into test and actions.
