My Girlfriend Is Boring: Why and What Do I Do
This is unfortunately a far more common problem than most people think. You have found the perfect girlfriend. She is beautiful, kind and cares for you deeply.
The only problem is that she is boring. You originally enjoyed the relationship while you were still infatuated with her. It seemed like you could only think about her. After the infatuation started to die off, you began to realize that you do not have a lot in common. It doesn’t seem like she is interested in anything that you are interested in. Worse still, she doesn’t have a lot to say. She can tell you about how her day went, but that seems to be about it.
Now that you realize that you are bored by your girlfriend, you have to decide what to do about it. She is so kind and sweet that you feel terrible breaking up with her. At the same time, you can’t imagine spending forever stuck with her. You want to end things, but you don’t want to hurt her.
Look Toward the Future
In the modern era, people tend to forget that the entire goal of dating is to find someone to marry. Yes, you can have great sex and companionship during the process. At the same time, the entire end goal is to find someone to spend a lifetime with.
Before you decide what to do about your boring girlfriend, you have to decide what you want your future to be. If your entire goal is to just find a stable, nice person to settle down with, there is nothing wrong with that. Can you see yourself spending a lifetime with your girlfriend? Is she someone that you want to wake up to every day for the rest of forever?
If you cannot imagine yourself spending a lifetime with your girlfriend, then you may want to consider ending the relationship. There is nothing wrong with this, and the break up will be a lot easier sooner rather than later. It is also entirely unfair to keep dating her if you know that it is going to end. If you think that your girlfriend is not a potential wife, then it is time to move on. The break up would happen sooner or later, and it will be easier before there are a lot of feelings developed. Your girlfriend probably has no clue how bored you are, so she is falling even more for you. She has no clue that you want to move on, and it is unfair to stay in the relationship if you realize that it is going to just end.
What Is the Cause of Your Boredom?
Before you break up with her, you should also think about the reasons why you are bored. Is she actually boring or is the relationship just boring you? In every single relationship, the first few weeks or months include an infatuation stage. This is where chemicals in your mind make you infatuated with the other person so that all you want to do is spend your time with them.
It is impossible to stay in the infatuation stage forever. At some point, your mind starts to switch over to a more affection, longer lasting stage of the relationship. If you love being in love and infatuated, you can start to feel bored at this time. Is it your girlfriend or just the stableness of your relationship that bores you?
If you have been together for a few months or years, you may also be getting bored from the habits that you have developed. It is easy to get stuck in a rut after you have been together for a long time. If this is the reason why you are bored, then you need to spice up your relationship. You might not need to end things. You may just need to take your girlfriend on a romantic getaway or do something fun. If you have run out of things to talk about, consider taking a class with your girlfriend. You could start cooking together, join a gym or do something else. By joining new activities, you can effectively make your relationship a bit more exciting again.
If you think your girlfriend is boring, you need to decide why you think that. If it is from getting stuck in a rut or the end of the infatuation stage, there are things you can do to revive the romance and make things exciting again. If you are actually bored by your girlfriend, then you need to figure out if she is someone you imagine spending a lifetime with. There is nothing wrong with realizing that she is a wonderful person, but not the right person for you. If this is the case, then you have to find a way to gently break things off.
