Minster Gives Update On Payment Of New NYSC ‘Allawee’
The minister of youth and sports, Sunday Dare says the Federal Ministry of Finance “is yet to drop the funds needed to pay the new allowance,” hence the non-implementation of the N30,000 Minimum Wage for National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members.
Naijaparry reports that minster assured that corps members throughout the federation will enjoy the payment of the new increased ‘allawee’ “soon”.
Dare made this known on his known Twitter handle on Thursday while replying a social media user, @Ife_choice.
He wrote: “Noted. Finance is yet to drop the funds needed to pay the new allowance. Soon”

It would be recalled that last month, Dare confirmed that members of the NYSC will enjoy the new minimum wage.
Dare also said the Director General (DG) NYSC will provide details of the new allowance for the Youth Corp members after full briefing from the Ministries of Finance and the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development (MYSD).
On his part, Brig.-Gen. Shuaibu Ibrahim, the DG NYSC disclosed that the scheme is awaiting directives from the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning , Mrs Zainab Ahmed, on when to begin the payment of the N30,000 new minimum wage to corps members.
The DG said serving corps members would be contacted about the payment once the NYSC gets details on the commencement of payment from the finance minister.
