May Edochie Explains Why She Declined Lucrative Nollywood Offers

In a recent interview on Nigerian comedian Ayo Makun’s podcast, May Edochie, the estranged wife of Nollywood actor Yul Edochie, shared her reasons for rejecting enticing offers and compensation from film producers and directors.

Despite receiving significant opportunities over the past three years, May clarified that she has consistently declined acting roles, expressing that she has no desire to become an actress.

“I informed Omoni that people had been offering me substantial amounts for movie roles and scripts,” she revealed. “But I’ve turned down every call from filmmakers, producers, and even some old friends.”

May emphasized that while she is skilled in various fields and believes she could succeed in many areas if she chose to, acting is not a path she wishes to pursue. Her statement has generated reactions on social media, with some speculating that she may be distancing herself from acting to avoid any perceived association with her estranged husband, Yul Edochie.
