Makinde To Present 2020 Budget To Oyo Assembly Tomorrow

Oyo state governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde will on Wednesday, November 27, 2019, present the 2020 budget to the Oyo State House of Assembly, reliable sources told Naijaparry.

The 2020 budget is Governor Makinde’s first budget presentation since he became the governor of the state in May 2019.

Sources said the Speaker and other lawmakers are prepared to receive the governor at the complex tomorrow.

In a similar statement, the Commissioner of Finance, Ayodele Ojo, had said the 2020 budget captured the needs and aspirations of the Oyo people.

Naijaparry recalls that the state government held town hall meetings across the three senatorial districts on the 2020 budget input.

The governor also promised jack up the allocation to the Education sector to 12 per cent from 2020.

In September 2019, the governor reduced the 2019 budget signed into law by former Governor Abiola Ajimobi from N285 billion to N182 billion, describing it as unrealistic..

However, no details yet on the 2020 budget.
