In 40.2 innings of work during his rookie season, Luetge had a 3.98 ERA and 38 strikeouts.After the Mariners removed him from the 40-man roster, Lucas Luetge announced free agency on November 7, 2015.
Following a stint in the Mariners, Lucas became a 40-man roster for Los Angeles Angelson, a minor league contract on November 17, 2015.By 2016, he played for its Triple-A team Salt Lake Bees before going as a free agent. For the next four seasons, he played in minor league baseball for Triple-A affiliates, Louisville Bats (of Cincinnati Reds in 2016), Norfolk Tides (of Baltimore Orioles in 2017), and Jackson Generals in 2019 (an affiliate of Arizona Diamondbacks). Due to the Tommy John surgery, he missed all of the 2018 season.
On February 17, 2021, The New York Yankees, signed him on a minor league contract and gave him a non-roster invitation. Luetge got into the New York Yankees’ Opening Day roster on March 31, 2021.
He made his debut as a Yankee on April 3, 2021, in a 5-3 win against the Blue Jays, throwing a scoreless inning while striking out one.By the end of the 2021-22 season, Lucas had a stellar 2.74 ERA over 72.1 innings through 57 game appearances, allowing 30 hits & 22 runs allowed.On December 28, 2022, he went to another MLB team Atlanta Braves, as a part of the Yankee’s trade for Chad Durbin and Indigo Diaz of minor leagues.
