Kogi Election: What I’ll Do If Re-elected As State Leader – Gov. Bello
Gov. Yahaya Bello of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has said if re-elected, his focus would be on education, security, human capital development and infrastructure, Naijaparry reports.
This online news platform understands that Bello made the promise in Ayingba on Saturday at Dekina/Bassa Federal Constituency Campaign Rally of the APC ahead of the governorship election.
Bello is gunning for a second term in the Kogi State Governorship election billed for November 16th.
Speaking at the event, he lamented the level of unemployment in Kogi State, vowing to turn the tide around if he wins the election.
“That is why we are resolute to redouble our efforts in ensuring that graduates are meaningfully engaged,” he added. “Our effort in the agriculture value chain have started yielding success.”
According to the Kogi leader, more than 1,700 youths and women in the state have benefitted from the first stage of the Women and Youth Empowerment Programme (WYEP) of Agro-Processing, Production Enhancement and Livelihood Improvement Support (APPEALS) backed by the World Bank.
“We are ready to take advantage of similar projects to better the lives of our people as we are able to take development to our communities within the minimum resources available to us,’’ Bello noted.
He, also, warned opposition parties against the use of mercenaries and rigging of the Kogi election.
This is as he cautioned his followers not to break the laws of the country before, during and after the election in the North Central State.
“Please do me a favour, youth, women and residents of Igala kingdom. You know yourselves, do not take the law into your hands,” the governor stated.
“The forthcoming election is about the future of the citizens of the state and I am optimistic that APC will win the election.’’
