Kogi Election: INEC Presents Certificate Of Return To Bello
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has presented the Certificate of Return to Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State.
Naijaparry had reported that INEC Returning Officer for the election, Ibrahim Umar, said Bello polled a massive 406,222 votes to defeat his main rival, Musa Wada of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who got 189,704 votes.
According to Umar, the candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Natasha Akpoti, garnered 9,482 votes.
The National Commissioner in charge of North Central, Mohammed Kudu Haruna, presented the certificates to Bello and his deputy governor-elect, Edward Onoja at the INEC state headquarters in Lokoja.
Haruna said: “Today marks a new beginning after the election and a call to duty for the governor-elect and his deputy.”
In his acceptance speech, Governor Bello appreciated the Kogi people for re-electing him and his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) back into office.
According to the governor, the event will not be the last time he will be receiving a Certificate of Return from INEC.
He was accompanied by his wife and top government officials and chieftains of the All Progressives Congress in the state.
