Justin Bieber paid $10M to perform at Anant Ambani’s pre-wedding in Mumbai
Justin Bieber was allegedly compensated $10 million (£7.8 million) to perform at a pre-wedding celebration for the son of Asia’s richest man.
Mukesh Ambani, an Indian entrepreneur and chairman of Reliance Industries, with a net worth exceeding $120 billion, opted to allocate a portion of his wealth towards a lavish pre-wedding event for his son Anant, who is marrying Radhika Merchant.
The event took place at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, India, where Bieber performed several of his hit songs such as ‘Baby’, ‘Sorry’, and ‘What Do You Mean?’
It continues a trend after Rihanna performed a similarly exclusive show for the couple in March, marking her first full-length set in over six years.
Bieber has been stepping back from public attention in recent years, revealing in 2019 about his ongoing battles with anxiety. In 2022, he also took an official hiatus from live performances, canceling all remaining shows on his ‘Justice’ tour due to Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which caused partial facial paralysis.
He declined the opportunity to join Usher during his Super Bowl performance this year, stating he “wasn’t feeling it.” A source told Page Six that“there’s no bad blood between Usher and Justin,” clarifying that Justin simply wasn’t in the right mindset for it.
