JUST IN: Oyo Deputy Governor Stopped From Attending Ajimobi’s 8-Day Fidau Prayer

The Deputy Governor of Oyo state, Engineer Rauf Olaniyan and other members of the Oyo state executive council have been stopped from entering the Oluyole residence of the Late former Governor Abiola Ajimobi where the 8-day Fidau prayer is on going.

Recall that their have been misunderstandings between the family of the late Governor and the state government.

Confirming the incident to ngnews247.com on Sunday, the Senior Special Assistant to the Deputy Governor on Media, Mr Omolere Omoetan said the security operatives at the entrance said the key to the gate was with the former first lady, Mrs Florence Ajmobi.

“Yes, the Deputy Governor was denied entrance to the Oluyole residence of Late Former Governor Abiola Ajimobi where the Fidau prayer was taking place.

“Security operatives at the entrance said the key to the gate is with Her Excellency”. Omolere told ngnews247.com in a telephone conversation.

There have been wide condemnation by the public on how the family and the state government are playing politics with death and burial of the former Governor.

A development which made the state government set up a committee for the 8-day fidau prayer.

The Chief Press Secretary to Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Taiwo Adisa made this known.

Mr Adisa said a committee of the State government is working with the family in line of trying to give him (late Ajimobi) a befitting 8 day Fidau.

“I can tell you that originally, the state government planned big for the dead yes. We dont want him to die because his death is a big loss to the state a lot of people will not know. They kept on jumping up and down on the social media.

“They dont know the details of it all. They dont even know what his death meant to the state. It is the people in government and the Governor that know what his death meant and may be a few family members but we are not going to dwell on all that. We are just going to tell you that the state government is doing things the right time”
