His sophomore campaign was equally impressive, averaging 26.7 points and 15.0 rebounds, guiding his team to a 20–9 record.

Despite his outstanding performance, Woodcreek fell short in the state title game against Bishop Montgomery High School. Brown’s remarkable abilities didn’t go unnoticed as he was named the 2017 Sacramento Bee Player of the Year. In his senior year, Brown transferred to Prolific Prep, where he continued to excel, averaging 23.5 points and 13.1 rebounds per game and earning MaxPreps fourth-team All-American honors. Notably, he was the sole McDonald’s All American to commit to a university outside the Power 7 conferences.

Brown’s talents drew attention from top-tier programs, earning him a five-star rating from 247Sports and Rivals, and a four-star rating from ESPN. After receiving his first scholarship offer from Nevada following his freshman year, he committed to play for the Wolf Pack over Arizona and California.

Brown’s presence, alongside the return of twins Cody and Caleb Martin, propelled Nevada to top 10 rankings in several preseason polls for the 2018–19 season. Despite his initial success at Nevada, Brown eventually transferred to Arizona, where he sat out the 2019–20 season but became eligible to play the following year. His stint with the Wildcats saw him earn Pac-12 Sixth Man of the Year honors. Subsequently, Brown transferred once more, this time to Louisiana, where he showcased his skills, averaging 15.3 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks per game, and earning Second Team All-Sun Belt recognition. In June 2023, Brown made his move to Memphis.
