Bryson DeChambeau’s father, Jon DeChambeau, passed away on Friday. Bryson said goodbye to his father in a message on his Instagram account early on Saturday:

“I’m sad to see you go but you’ve been through way too much pain in this life. I’m so happy you are at peace. Now, you get to be with me and watch me at every event I play.”

Bryson’s agent confirms the news of Jon’s passing. Throughout his life, Jon has faced several health challenges.

Jon DeChambeau suffered from diabetes and kidney failure. Due to a protracted struggle with diabetes, both of his kidneys failed in 2014. He required a transplant in 2017 at the age of 57. Bryson completed his debut season with the LIV Golf Series last week in Miami. His team, the Crushers, was eliminated in the semifinals.
