Jim Chalmers is an Australian politician who is serving as the Treasurer of Australia since May 23, 2022. He has served as a Member of Parliament for the division of Rankin since 2013.

He came in to replace retiring ALP member Craig Emerson. Jim defeated former MO Brett Raguse in the Labor preselection.

After Labor won the 2022 Australian federal election, Albanese swore in himself, Chalmers, and three other senior Labor frontbenchers as an interim five-person government, with Chalmers becoming Treasurer of Australia.
