He came into acting in 2000 and as since landed lead role in Aquaman earning him popularity. Joseph Jason Namakaeha Momoa was born on August 1st of 1979 in Honolulu, Hawaii. He was raised as an only child by his father, a painter, and his mother, a photographer. He has Hawaiian ancestry on his father’s side and European heritage on his mother’s side.

He attained his elementary and high school education in Hawaii and went to study Marine Biology in college before earning hi first model work catching the eyes of many people.

Jason Momoa began his career as a model, and he was discovered at the age of 19 by a number of well-known designers. In 1999, he began his acting career and took the role of Jason Ioane on the series “Baywatch Hawaii.” Before he took the role, he was working part-time in a surf shop. In the early 2000s, he also featured in other series like “North Shore” and the film “Johnson Family Vacation.”

In 2005, Jason featured in what will be seen as a life changing series “Stargate Atlantis” staying until 2009. In same year, he featured in just 4 episodes of a series titled “The Game”. He played the main antagonist in reboot of “Conan the Barbarian” in 2011.

With his performance, he was able to audition for a role in “Game of Thrones” as Khal Drogo before his character got killed in 2012. His character though short lived, Jason gained more recognition for his incredible performance.

He finished off 2014 in style by landing the role of Aquaman in the DC Extended Universe but appeared on the big screen in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” in 2016. He went on to land the lead role in the Series titled See (2019-2022) and has also featured in a sequel of Aquaman (The lost kingdom).
