The message reads,
Very sad news we got this morning here.
Janne Heiskanen, our friend and the original drummer of the famous band “The Rasmus”, passed away this thursday.
He died at the age of 42 in a motorcycle accident here in Pattaya. The Rasmus sold over 5 million albums worldwide, and has won a number of awards on both, the national and international levels. We still can’t believe it. Only 2 months ago Janne sent us recordings of his new album, which he wanted to release, and now he is dead.
Our condolences go to his family.

Who was Janne Heiskanen?
Janne Heiskanen played on the band’s first three albums. The Rasmus’ original drummer, Janne Heiskanen, has passed away. On Instagram, the band discusses it. Heiskanen has a 43-year-old age.
Heiskanen replaced the departing drummer, Aki Hakala, who is still active in the group. The band notes that Heiskanen wrote the title tune for the group’s debut album Peep and refers to him as “the backbone of groovy and stable beats.” After Rasmus, Heiskanen was a member of the band Lovestone, who went on early 2000s tours but didn’t release any music.
HEISKANEN played on the albums Peep (1996), Playboys (1997), and Hell of a Tester (1998). All three albums sold as much as a gold record, i.e. more than 20,000 copies.
At that time, the band’s name was still simply Rasmus. It adopted the prefix The at the turn of the millennium.
After Heiskanen left the band, he was replaced by Aki Hakala. He has been playing drums in the band ever since. Jarno Lahti preceded Heiska in the band for a year.
After Rasmus, Heiskanen spent a few years in India. After that, he also played in a band called Lovestone.
