In Osun, Police Arrest Popular Masquerade, 6 Others

The Osun State Police Command has arrested a popular masquerade and six persons for fomenting trouble in the state.

It was gathered there was a pandemonium in Ede when the masquerade came out and allegedly injured a man identified as Mukaila Ismaila who was later rushed to the hospital and matter was reported to the police.

According to eyewitness, told our correspondent that those following the masquerade were with different dangerous weapons.

ngnews247.com learnt that when the policemen, some suspected hoodlums following the masquerade engaged them in gun duel.

Investigation revealed that six persons namely; Fagbemi Ajao, Ifaseun Gbadebo, Olubayo Ayantunde, Taiwo Ayandare, Taiwo Ayandare and Ayankunle Mutiu were arrested along with the masquerade.

Confirming the story, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Undie Adie, disclosed that the masquerade and other six persons have been arrested.

Adie disclosed further that the Items recovered from them include; charms, one cut-to-size barrel gun, one Dane gun, two cutlasses, local axes and four talking drums.

He, however, vowed that the masquerade and all the suspects would not go unpunished.
