I’ll drop album before entry into UNILAG, – Mavin superstar, Rema
Mavin superstar Rema has revealed that he gained admission into the University of Lagos (UNILAG) and would be returning to school.
In a series of tweets on Friday night, the Woman singer revealed that his mum influenced his decision.
“What if I told y’all I got an admission into Unilag?” he tweeted.
“Lol, Mom said I still need to get a degree sigh, oh well, see you guys in class! ☺️”
Rema also said that he plans on releasing his album Raves and Roses before he resumes school.
“I will try to drop the album before I enter school. So they’ll not beat me in UNILAG. Plus, I’m in the Creative Art Department.🤫😂 ,” he wrote.
Many Nigerians have supported his decision. DJ cuppy quoting the tweet, wrote, “Artists going back to school 🙌🏽👏🏽”
Bizzle Osikoya also tweeted, “Love this, a lot of artists need education, glad to see Rema doing this.”
In July, Rema got his Ravers excited, announcing the title of his much-anticipated album on Twitter. He tweeted “Album – Rave & Roses” while also revealing that he had officially amassed 200 million streams on Spotify without an LP.
“Just did 200 Million streams on @Spotify without an Album, I’m spoiling myself today cause I deserve it.”
His sexually charged singer Soundgasm is believed to be off his forthcoming album.
Rema rose to popularity in 2019 after the release of his single Iron Man, which was listed on former U.S. President Barack Obama’s 2019 summer playlist.
Rema was the first artist signed under Jonzing World, Mavin Records first imprint label.
His breakout single, “Dumebi,” quickly became a hit and topped charts across the country.
