Music superstar, David Adeleke better known as Davido has revealed the exorbitant amount he spent on his last album.

The award-winning singer revealed in a recent interview that he spent nearly $ 2 million on his former album, ‘A Better Time’.

Davido added that he spent 300,000 on his new album and has made triple in profit.

Despite the exorbitant amount he has spent, he is grateful that African music is improving.

“My last album, I probably spent $ 2 million. I even spent 300,000 on this album and I made more in 3 days. It just shows me the level African music is going to. Things change”.

 

This isn’t surprising as Davido revealed he paid a hefty amount to shoot a music video for one of the songs in his new album with TG Omori.

 

Davido reveals he paid TG Omori N100m for music video

The famous singer revealed he paid music video director, TG Omori a whooping N100 million to shoot the video of a record off his fourth studio album ‘Timeless’.

The ‘Omo Baba Olowo’ crooner disclosed this in an interview with Beats FM, Lagos.

According to him, the video is the most expensive in the history of the Nigerian music industry.

Davido said, “I’m excited about the record. We shot the video with TG. And I’m proud to say that’s the first N100m video in Nigeria.

“The video was like six days shoot. And I came for three. He shot the other three days. The video was like a storyline. Shoutout to him, he’s amazing,” he added.

The singer released his long-awaited and highly anticipated album, ‘Timeless’ on March 31, 2023.

TG Omori reveals he doesn’t charge less than 8 million for a music video shoot

Recall that TG Omori was a hot topic on Twitter after he revealed he doesn’t charge anything below N8 million.

The music director has shot music videos for recording artists across various genres of a new generation which includes, Olamide, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Tekno, Kizz Daniel, Fireboy DML, Naira Marley, Timaya, and many others.

With a lot of artists to his name, it’s not surprising that he charges above N8 million.

TG Omori made this known while reacting to a blog’s claims that he charges N8 million to shoot a music video.

Shutting the report down, TG Omori made it known that it was in the year 2021 he charged 8 million.

This implies that the sought-after music director is currently charging above N8 million.
