“It is with great sadness that I have to share with you the passing of my father James Gordon Bennison MBE, otherwise known as Jim, this afternoon at 4.00pm His health has deteriorated gradually since early January.
Born in March 1931 Jim just celebrated his 92nd birthday. A teacher at Brinnington Secondary Modern School and founder of Stockport Basketball Club, for which he was awarded his MBE
Proud to be able to call him ‘Dad’ as Charlotte is to call him ‘Grandad’
Always been there for me and will remain in my heart forever💙
Thanks for everything Dad, rest in peace.”
His passing was also mourned by Stockport Basketball Club on social media.
