Hang Yang, Las Vegas poker player passed away suddenly. Jesse Segall, who described the deceased poker player as “the most generous/friendly player around,” tweeted the news.

Yang, a native of Virginia, developed that reputation throughout the years by focusing primarily on cash game poker.

He tweeted, “RIP Hank Yang. Shocked to hear of his passing today. Every time he was in the @ARIAPoker room, he was the most generous/friendly player around.

His love for poker was obvious, but his love for people was second to none. The void left behind in his wake will be impossible to fill.

Hank Yang cause of death was not revealed yet. Yang played regularly in the cash games at Aria for many years, earning a reputation as one of the most refined players there.

Although he wasn’t a fan of tournaments, the Hendon Mob reports that he did cash in $178,492 worth of them throughout his career.

Hank Yang was a regular poker player at Aria. His Hendon Mob stats only list three amounts of cash in total, with his last being in a $3,000 buy-in no-limit hold ’em tournament at the WPT World Championships last month at Wynn Las Vegas, where he finished in 40th place for $12,496.

Yang’s other two wins were from contests with $10,000 buy-ins. The first was a $115,500 career-high finish as runner-up in a pot-limit Omaha tournament at the 2021 WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic at Bellagio 2021.

And the other was a 15th-place finish for $50,496 in a PLO tournament at the 2022 World Series of Poker.

Yang appeared on Poker After Dark on PokerGO in 2018, one of the most well-known poker cash game broadcasts ever.

He played in a game with a $20,000 minimum buy-in against players like Daniel Negreanu and Phil Hellmuthand. He came with a profit of $100,000, the most at the table.
