Hilda Baci: We’ll Review All Evidence Before Confirming Record – Guinness World Records

The Guinness World Records, on Monday, revealed why it was yet to confirm Nigerian chef, Hilda Baci’s new record for the longest cooking hours.

Baci broke the record for the longest cooking marathon on Monday morning, May 15 in Lagos state.

Guinness World Record , however, stated that it will review all the evidence first before officially confirming the record.

She achieved the feat after cooking for more than 87 hours and 45 minutes, a record which was previously set by Indian chef, Lata Tondon back in 2019.

A Twitter user AlexanderDGreat has wondered why the Guinness World Record to remained silent about Hilda’s new record.

“Why is Guinness World Record not showing or talking about Hilda‘s cook-a-ton? Can’t see anything on their pages (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube),” he tweeted.

In response, GWR said; “We are aware of this amazing record attempt, we need to review all the evidence first before officially confirming a record”.

Baci, a native of Akwa Ibom State commenced the ‘cook-a-thon’ on Thursday, May 11 at Amore Gardens, Lekki, Lagos State.

She surpassed the 87-hour mark on Monday morning but chose not to stop the cook-a-thon as she’s now on her way to set a new Guinness World Record
