Helicopter Crash in Port Harcourt Results in Three Fatalities

A tragic helicopter accident in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has resulted in the deaths of three individuals.

According to Channels Television, the incident occurred at 11:22 a.m. on Thursday, as the aircraft ditched into the waters of the region.

The helicopter, identified as a Sikorsky SK76 with registration number 5NBQG, was operated by East Wind Aviation and was traveling from Port Harcourt Military Base (DNPM) to the Nuimantan oil rig.

A spokesperson for the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Odutayo Oluseyi, confirmed that there were eight people on board at the time of the crash.

The helicopter went down near Bonny Finima in the Atlantic Ocean, prompting authorities to initiate rescue operations.
