Wife of the President, Aisha Buhari has thrown her weight behind calls for the execution of Abdulmalik Tanko, proprietor of Noble Kids Academy in Kawaji, Kano state for killing five-year-old Hanifa Abubakar.
The Police in Kano had arrested two suspects, Tanko and Hashim Isyaku over the abduction and killing of a five-year-old girl, Hanifa Abubakar.
Hanifa was buried in a shallow grave and her remains was discovered at private school premises in Kwanar ‘Yan Gana, Tudun Murtala Quarters, Nassarawa LGA, Kano State by the police.
The suspects, Tanko and Isyaku had abducted Hanifa on December 2, 2021, and took the victim to a hideout where they contacted her relatives and demanded a ransom of N6m.
Tanko was Hanifa’s private teacher and having realized that the victim recognized them, the suspects poisoned her to death, butchered her remains and buried it in a shallow grave.
There have been outcry over her murder, with many people calling for justice on social media.
Even President Muhammadu Buhari had called for justice for Hanifa and ordered the police to do a thorough job to ensure that the suspects were nailed.
An Islamic Scholar, Malam Abdallah Gadon Kaya, in a video Aisha Buhari uploaded on her Instagram page had called for the execution of Tanko publicly.
He said the way the proprietor took the life of Hanifa, his own life should be taken too publicly.
Replying to the Islamic scholar’s call for public execution of Tanko, Aisha Buhari said she supported the move.
She wrote: “MUNA GOYON BAYAN HUKUNCHIN MALAM (We are behind Mallam’s stance.)”
