She however, rose to fame after playing the lead character in the popular Nollywood movie, Gangster Paradise. She has since been involved in over 150 Nollywood movies some of which include Slip of Fate, Tears of a Child, Secret Shadows, Gangster Paradise, Area Mama, Men in Love, Okafor’s Law, Men in Love, Return of White Hunters, Dangerous Ivy, and Entrapped.

Halima made her debut as an executive producer in the movie, Mistresses. She also starred alongside Yvonne Nelson in the mentioned movie. Halima is currently the CEO of a Modehouse Entertainment, a music label and entertainment management company. She also has a charity organisation, ‘Halima Abubakar Foundation for the Poor’, which focuses on people without food. She is currently the Kogi State youth ambassador.
