Gunmen kidnap Ondo ADC senatorial candidate, three chieftains

The senatorial candidate of the African Democratic Congress for Ondo North Senatorial District , Mr . Jide Ipinsagba was abducted on Wednesday evening by unknown gunmen along Ikare- Owo road .

Ipinsagba was reportedly abducted alongside three other chieftains of the party and the driver of their vehicle.

According to a source , the victims were abducted at Oba Akoko area of the expressway while they were heading to Akure from Ikare Akoko , where they had attended a political meeting.

It was gathered that the vehicle conveying the abducted persons was seen by the roadside. However, the whereabouts of the occupants were still unknown as of the time of filing the report .

The Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr . Femi Joseph confirmed the incident and said the command had begun investigation and search for the victims had commenced.
