Four Suspected Cultists Arrested While Plotting Mayhem On Osun Campus
The operatives of the police in Osun have arrested four suspected cultists while allegedly planning mayhem on the campus of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree.
The suspects were said to have been arrested in Iree by the men of the Anti-Cultism Unit of the state police command in their hideout following a tip-off.
A source in Iree, who spoke on condition of anonymity on Sunday told our correspondent that the suspects had been moved to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Osogbo for further action.
Confirming the story, the spokesperson for the command, Yemisi Opalola, said the suspects were arrested last Friday in Iree.
According to her, “Upon the information received on Friday, February 12, men of Anti-Cultism Unit from the State Criminal Investigation Department swooped on the suspects and effected their arrest.
“Those arrested are Akintade Wisdom, Sodiq Opeyemi, Olayinka Fadeyi and Azeez Olalekan. Upon interrogation, we discovered that they are not students of the polytechnic, but their mission was to cause chaos on the campus. They were immediately handed over to operatives.”
