Final Year Female Student and her Deadly Gang, Arrested for Kidnapping Businessman (Photo)

Two weeks after Chief Monday Okeh, a business mogul in Ebonyi State popularly known as Emebeifego and Monablis was kidnapped, dispossessed him of N5million, shot and thrown into a river, those behind the crime have been arrested.

The suspects have been arrested including their leader who got N2.7million from the operation and a 400-level female student of Sociology of Ebonyi State University.

They have all confessed to the crime. Okeh who owns a popular hotel in Abakaliki known as Monablis, was kidnapped on the night of May 21, in front of the hotel at No 55 Nnorom Street, Mile 50, Abakaliki and taken to a river. He was shot and thrown into the river.

Chinonso Desmond, described as leader of the group, said he shot and tried to kill Mr Oke because one of them who is still at large suspected the businessman knows him.

Loveth Nnenna,The female student of Ebonyi State University, said she was introduced to the group by her boyfriend who was arrested on his way to to the state from Enugu with some guns.

“I was arrested for kidnapping and armed robbery. I am final student of Ebonyi State University, Department of Sociology. I belong to Bagger Confraternity,” she added.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Lovet Odah, revealed that the kidnappers transferred N5m from the victim’s bank account, using his phone, to their own bank account before pushing him into the river, but he survived.
